HYDRATION IS THE KEY TO HEALTHY (LOOKING) SKIN!

When we become dehydrated, our skin becomes dry, flaky, and wrinkled. As we continue to age, it loses its natural elasticity, making it harder for water to enter our cells, causing our skin to become more easily dehydrated. When we shower, we are actually removing oil and moisture from our skin. When we use toxic chemicals, we are disrupting our skins natural moisture balance and making it even more prone to breakouts and blemishes.

Our skin is the largest organ of our body. It prevents germs from entering the body and damaging internal organs. Our skin supports the life of all other body parts and plays a role in maintaining the immune system and helps to regulate body temperature through the sweat glands. Moral of the story is…OUR SKIN IS KIND OF A BIG DEAL!

To keep your skin looking healthy and youthful, and help with aging, you need to KEEP IT HYDRATED! Hydrated skin will age slower and look healthier. If our skin was granted 1 wish and we had to deliver at all costs…it would simply be to hydrate it! Not hard.

Here are 3 ways you can hydrate your skin to protect, nourish and repair it.

  1. HYDRATE FROM THE INSIDE: The first, most important way to do this is to drink plenty of water. Period.
  2. SAY GOODBYE TO YOUR PRETTY BAR SOAPS: The second way to help hydrate your skin is to stop using traditional bar soaps. While cute and quite aromatic (often good enough to eat), traditional bar soaps have a very high pH that causes dry, dehydrated skin. Instead, try this Aloe Vera Face and Body Soap from My ALOEssentials. It is 100% free of toxic chemicals and will actually help put back in the moisture that you are stripping from your skin when you shower.
  3. HYDRATE FROM THE OUTSIDE: A third and critical way to prevent dehydrated skin is to hydrate it from the outside. My ALOEssentials Aloe Vera Body Cream contains 100% Pure Organic Aloe Vera that makes up over 50% of its contents to deliver hydration and nourishment to dehydrated skin cells. This body cream is also 100% free of toxic chemicals and is safe and recommended for use on your face, body, and hands as part of your daily skincare routine. It comes in Sweet Orange, Lavender, and Tea Tree and Lemon.
  4. SAY NO TO TOXIC CHEMICALS: Pay attention to skincare product labels and avoid toxic chemicals! Using skin care products that excessively dry out your skin will make your skin even more vulnerable to breakouts and blemishes. Sulfates, found in most body care products, are a major skin irritant that strips your skin of its own protective barrier and disrupts your natural moisture balance.  This can often cause your body to have to overcompensate by producing excess oil. All of ALOEssentials aloe vera skincare products are 100% free of toxic chemicals.

You might very well be thinking that because your skin doesn’t show obvious signs of being dehydrated, then it must not be a problem that applies to you. I wish that were true but it’s still a serious concern because skin is very good at hiding when it’s being aggravated. You might not see the damage on skin’s surface right now, but there is no doubt that you will over time.

The reality is that we are all aging, every day. There is no miracle anti-aging product that will undo any major damage we’ve done.  What we can do is take some really simple steps to preserve what we do have, and make our bodies feel the best they can be so we can enjoy them every day we are blessed with. Staying hydrated, from both the inside and out, is the #1 best thing we can do for our skin, along with paying attention to labels and only using skincare products free of chemicals and minimal ingredients. Our skin is our body’s largest organ, yet we don’t always treat it the same as we do our smaller, internal organs. Would you purposely ingest toxic chemicals? It’s unlikely. Take care of yourself, and give your skin what it needs to do its best work for you. <3

And if you really want to give your skin a treat, try this Sweet Orange Aloe Vera Skincare set that includes (1) bar of aloe vera soap and (1) 4oz jar of Aloe Vera Cream!

The health benefits of tea tree oil date back for centuries where it was used to treat wounds & other skin conditions. Australian aboriginals used tea tree leaves for healing skin cuts, burns, & infections by crushing the leaves & applying them to the affected area. Tea tree oil contains constituents called terpenoids, which have been found to have antiseptic & antifungal activity.

People use tea tree oil for the following conditions:

  • Vaginitis
  • Thrush
  • Periodontal disease
  • As an antiseptic
  • Boils
  • Skin tags
  • Ringworm
  • Lice
  • Eczema
  • Psoriasis
  • Yeast infection

I use organic tea tree oil in my moisturizing body cream with organic lemon essential oil, organic aloe vera juice, organic vitamin E oil, organic apricot oil, and other premium non toxic ingredients to hydrate, nourish and moisturize your the largest, most prominent organ of your body, your skin.

My ALOEssentials Moisturizing Aloe Vera Cream with Tea Tree & Lemon

My whole life I struggled with extremely sensitive and dry skin, as well as plaque psoriasis primarily on my elbows and parts of my hands. I tried countless lotions and creams on the market that actually made my skin even dryer and often inflamed my psoriasis. I had heard about the healing benefits of Aloe Vera for psoriasis and began experimenting. Using Aloe Vera as the main base in a cream would not only moisturize, but also hydrate and nourish the skin with a natural abundance of antioxidants, minerals, enzymes, and vitamins. My first successful creation, and the aloe vera cream that changed my life, was a Moisturizing Aloe Vera Body Cream scented with Tea Tree and Lemon essential oils, rather than scenting with toxic chemicals that would be sure to irritate my skin. I have since used this body cream every day, from head (yes my face too!) to toe, after my morning shower. I found that applying once a day was all I needed, which was another plus! My skin has never looked, felt, or actually been healthier in my life. For someone that breaks out in hives from the slightest skin irritation, that’s saying a lot.

I was so proud of this product and blown away by the results that I started making jars for all my friends and family. The feedback I received was incredible and I knew at that point I had something really special that I needed to share with the world.

The name was a no brainer…my ALOEssentials (Aloe Vera + Essential Oils): non-toxic, nourishing skin care products that are safe and effective for all skin types, ESPECIALLY dry and sensitive skin, like mine! All of the essential oils I use in my products are from Plant Therapy and are USDA certified organic. I now offer this amazing cream in Team Tree & Lemon, Sweet Orange, and Lavender scents. I am extremely proud of these products and have a lot of faith in them. I hope you agree! If you’re interested, you can shop my Aloe Vera Skin Care products in my Etsy store!
